Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (known by its acronym UPEIDA) was set up by the State Government under U.P. Industrial Areas Development Act 1976, in December 2007 for development of Expressways in Uttar Pradesh. This is a newly established Organisation with lean and laborious employee base, on contract or on deputation basis from State Revenue Department/PWD, among them few are deployed on retainership basis or by service provider.

Purvanchal Expressway will take Uttar Pradesh, especially Eastern UP, to greater heights With a total length of 341 kilometres (km), the Purvanchal Expressway is a strategically significant project and a prime example of world-class infrastructure. It starts from village Chaudsarai, district Lucknow located on Lucknow-Sultanpur road (NH-731) and ends at village Hydaria located on National Highway No. 31, 18 km east of UP-Bihar border. The expressway is six-lane wide which can be expanded to eight-lane in future. Constructed at an estimated cost of about Rs 22500 crore, the Purvanchal Expressway will give a boost to the economic development of eastern part of Uttar Pradesh especially the districts of Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur.

About Delhi-Vadodara Expressway

Delhi-Vadodara Expressway will connect Sohna Elevated Corridor in Delhi to Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Maharashtra via Dausa, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara and Surat. It passes through the Union territory of Delhi (9 km) and the states of Haryana (129 km), Rajasthan (373 km), Madhya Pradesh (244 km), Gujarat (426 km) and Maharashtra (171 km). The main length of the expressway is from Sohna to Virar only i.e. 1,198 km. additionally, it has two spurs: DND–Faridabad–KMP (59 km) and Virar–JNPT (92 km), which increases its length to 1,350 km.
